Sonorous

I love the word sonorous. I would love to use that word everyday if I could.

so·no·rous

[suh-nawr-uhs, -nohr-, son-er-uhs] Show IPA
–adjective
1.
giving out or capable of giving out a sound, esp. a deep, resonant sound, as a thing or place: a sonorous cavern.
2.
loud, deep, or resonant, as a sound.
3.
rich and full in sound, as language or verse.
4.
high-flown; grandiloquent: a sonorous speech.

Origin:
1605–15; < L sonōrus noisy, sounding, equiv. to sonōr-, s. of sonor sound (son(āre) to sound1 + -or -or1) + -us -ous
We used to have a joke, a very male joke about this... It went like this:  A man would be with another man or group of men and notice an attractive woman and say, "I would not mind guessing her weight." What he meant was to have her sit on his face so he could do just that. And I would love to guess her weight!

This photo really interests me and has several features younger followers of this blog may not notice. First, and foremost, the beds:  The beds are two "twins" or singles and this type of sleeping arrangement was quite common post World War II being that there was no truly effective means of birth control. In this case the beds are made separately but pushed together. Second, the teddy bear in the upper left top corner of the picture. Is this a newlywed couple enjoying some risque photos as a prelude to sex? Third, the subject's youth. This is one young woman. I am estimating 18 - 20 years old. She still needs the comfort of her teddy bear...or is it the photographer's?

My vote for the most awkward pose of the week for any model. Is sh taking something off or putting something on or is her gall bladder bothering her?

Gotta love wrinkles.!

Here face has character. And what does it express I wonder. Is she pissed he took the photo or that he took it too soon?

Eyebrows as an airfoil. Seriously look at them. Arched is not the word or the manner of Brandy's eyebrows. But she IS holding a pistol so do what she says.

She may look wholesome but she will not be after I am done with her!

  1. I love these vintage pin-ups. What they lack in style or finesse they more than make up for in character. Btw......I reckon she's 104 lbs. :)
