Wanilianna's Best Of

Wanilianna has a recent post about her favourite or "best of" photos and short commentary about each photo. Illuminating and interesting to see the perspective of the subject of a photographer's eye and conception. Go on over to the post and let her know which one you like the best. I bet is was a HARD decision to make given all the images she had to review and consider but I like the range and scope of the work she has presented.

Below is my pick for her best of the best. The reasons I like this image are multitude. I love black and white photography and the use of this mode of imagery brings so much more out of the image though it would be interesting to compare and contrast the colour image.

I like that the image includes a foundation garment and the girdle and stockings are most probably white (black can be a bit over done sometimes). The long coat reminds me of a fantasy I realized with a lover once and also implies motion: either she has arrived or is about to go out. Why dressed like this? The implied motion adds mystery to the image and makes it more compelling and interesting.

Her look is defiant and challenging to me. It makes me wonder why. Is she mad at her lover and leaving him post-coitus because of some insult or word or gesture that implied lack of love or respect. Or could it be that her lover's lack if sexual imagination has displeased her. She has just arrived dressed like below in order to seduce him or initiate a tryst of passionate, unbridled sex and she has been told he is "too busy" to partake in such heaven with her. I, for one, know how I would react in such a situation. Damn the work! Damn the torpedoes. Point your toes...I am going in deep!
